Definitions

A/R Days

What it measures: Approximates the time it takes to collect outstanding balances. Allows practices of different sizes to compare results.

How to calculate: Divide A/R total by average daily charges (use at least 3 months of data).

Immunization Coverage

What it measures: Active patients who are two years old with the proper number of vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee in Immunization Practices (ACIP) for children who are two years of age. The measure includes: four diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis (DTaP); three polio (IPV); one measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); three H influenza type B (HiB); three hepatitis B (HepB), one chicken pox (Varicella); four pneumococcal conjugate (PCV); one hepatitis A (HepA); and two rotavirus (RV).

How to calculate: Count the number of children who are two years old who have received the proper number of vaccines for the vaccine family.

Missed Appointment Rates

What it measures: The percentage of appointments that were marked as missed. Missed appointments represent revenue loss and delayed patient care.

How to calculate: Divide the total number of missed appointments by the total number of scheduled appointments.

Clean Claim Rate

What it measures: The percentage of claims that are accepted by payers upon claim submission by PCC.

How to calculate: Divide the total submitted claims that were accepted by the payers by the total number of claims submitted overall.

Revenue Per Visit

What it measures: The average revenue generated per patient visit, across all payers and visit types.

How to calculate: Divide your total revenue by your total number of visits for a given time frame (one year is best).

Customer Spotlight

"Six years ago, I switched to PCC, who has, in my opinion, the premier pediatric practice management system. It was the best move I have made in my ten years of private practice.

With only a few clicks, I can review a multitude of meaningful and easy-to-read reports. I can also create my own custom reports for things that are important to my practice."
